Meg Matson is a full time professional 2-d artist working in oil, pastel, acrylic, and mixed media. Her creative process has so much energy-it is transformed into her paintings. The large canvases she creates show strength and vitality with an enthusiastic spirit.
She has shown in m-any local and national exhibits and is represented by Green Door Art Gallery in Webster Groves and was involved many years as a co-owner of Gateway Gallery in Clayton, Missouri. Her work is held in several private and public collections including museum collections in New Zealand, Mexico City, and Sergine, France. She represented Missouri artists with a piece that hung in the Senate building in Washington, D.C.
Besides time in the studio she enjoys traveling to Plein Air events and competitions and being able to socialize with other artists from around the country and learning about art activities in their regions. Motivating new artists by presenting demos and workshops has also become a focus of hers.
